St. Brigid’s Crosses

Congratulations and thank you to the girls who made all of the St. Brigid’s crosses during the last week in January, to all of your teachers and to Mrs. Farrell who co-ordinated it. A special thank you to the girls who attended the masses in Askea at the weekend of St. Brigid’s Day, where they made St. Brigid’s crosses and sold them. The total amount raised in Askea came to: €1730.00. We wish to extend our gratitude to all who contributed so generously to this worthy cause. It is great to see the very old tradition of making crosses from rushes being passed on to the next generation. Congratulations and well done to all involved in making the crosses!

Parent Group Flag Days

Askea G.N.S. Parent Group held Flag Days on Saturday 23rd February and Sunday 24th February. The amount raised was: €1007.50. This money will be used to buy educational resources for the pupils. We wish to extend our thanks to those parents and teachers who volunteered on both days and to the general public who gave so generously to us. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Easter Draw

Many thanks to all who contributed so generously to our Easter Draw, which is one of our main fundraising events throughout the year. The money raised will go towards the provision of resources to improve the pupils’ learning experience during their time with us here at school. Names of prize winners will be published in the parish Newsletter and posted in the school foyer. Our sincere gratitude is extended to the Parent Group for their work in ensuring that the Easter Draw runs smoothly.
